Everyone knows;
Anyone can see it
Wherever anyone goes.
All of the malls
Have a display that they call
"Christmas Corner" --
Which it isn't at all.
I see a plastic pine tree
a whole lot of LED lights
Even more Santas --
But what's missing from the sight?
There is a snowman
(When we don't even have snow!)
I see stars and angels,
But what's missing from the show?
Oh here is Rudolph
With his nose so bright;
Colorful balls and thingamajigs
Every shiny thing a delight!
But what is missing?
Do you now see?
What is Christmas about?
Where is the Nativity?
Alas, it is nowhere,
Or in very few places ...
So here's our proposal:
Let's Keep Christ in Christmas.
- In ourselves and in our families, let us make it a point to remember Christ as we prepare for the 25th of December. Let's spend some time getting to know him; read the bible or a bible storybook.
- Let's be brave and remind our friends whenever an opportunity arises that Christmas is about the birth of Christ.
- Let's Remind malls and other public places that have "Christmas Corners" without Baby Jesus figures or Nativity Scenes that Christmas is about the birth of Christ by sticking signs on their displays.
- Let's send letters to mall managers and managers of other public places that have "Christmas Corners" without Baby Jesus figures or Nativity Scenes that Christmas is about the birth of Christ by sending them letters.
- Let's make it a point to give gifts that are about Jesus whenever we can.
Please add you own suggestions below :)
